What moves me about CCC 1 and 27 is something I’m still trying to take in:
The mighty, all-powerful God who created everything notices me. He knows me. And He loves me—all of me.
It is one thing to say, “God loves the world.” It is another to stop and realize that I am part of that world He loves. I haven’t somehow disappeared into the crowd.
He knows my joys, my struggles, my failures, and the things I find difficult to put into words. I don’t have to hide any part of myself from Him.
That doesn’t mean every choice I make is good. It means I can bring my whole self to Him, including what needs forgiveness and change.
CCC 1 describes God’s invitation to share in His own life. CCC 27 speaks of the desire for God written into the human heart.
When I read those passages, I see my own walk differently. My desire to know Him belongs within a love that began with Him.
The God who created everything wants a relationship with me.
How could that not change the way I respond to Him?
